Dry eye and allergies often occur together, but they’re different problems with different causes. Did you know that Casey Optical Too’s Trifecta Dry Eye Treatment can help treat both?
Our Trifecta features three advanced in-office treatments designed to restore comfort, improve tear quality, and support long-term eye health. We spoke with Dr. Drew Casey about how Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, MiBoFlow, and Low-Level Light Therapy can help patients navigate allergy season.
IPL uses targeted light energy to improve the function of the meibomian (oil) glands in the eyelids.
Dr. Casey: "IPL, which is intense pulsed-light, can help tighten up the skin around the eyes and kinda helps with eyes feeling dry and its been helpful with the puffy eyes."
MiBoFlo delivers gentle, controlled heat to the outside of the eyelids, helping soften and release clogged oils from the meibomian glands.
Dr. Casey: "Mibflo can be very helpful with the dry and itchy eyes. It actually moves through the oil through the glands and can help flush out the things that are causing those allergies."
How Low-Level Light Therapy Works 👁️
LLLT uses therapeutic LED light applied around the eyelids and cheeks to reduce inflammation, promote cellular healing, and enhance overall eye comfort.
Dr. Casey: "The Red-Light Therapy is helpful for cellular rejuvination. While not specifically helpful for allergies itself, it has made people feel better. I've had a lot ancedotal evidence of my patients saying "usually this time of year I'm really struggling and since I've done the TriFecta I've been feeling better, vision's been a lot more stable." So I highly recommend it."
